Galen Ryzdik

Galen Ryzdik is a student at New College of Florida studying Applied Physics and Audio Engineering.

As an artist, Ryzdik is primarily a singer/songwriter and is inspired by folk, rock, and pop artists. Some of Ryzdik’s favorite albums include Chaos and the Calm by James Bay, Lemon Parade by Tonic, Something to Be by Rob Thomas, Gordon by Barenaked Ladies, Sigh No More by Mumford and Sons, and Building the Perfect Beast by Don Henley.

“My music is inspired by the ways in which individuals respond to the differences between reality and ideals,” Ryzdik said.

On why he applied to the Lo-Fi program, Ryzdik said, “I wanted to learn about hip hop and the ways in which its creators write music to broaden my horizons. I also wanted the ability to obtain a job were I to study abroad.”

Ryzdik states that his family inspires him through their dedication of caring for others.
