Welcome to our first blog post highlighting the inaugural cohort of Lo-Fi Language Learning! In this series, we will give readers the chance to get to know each member of our Spring 2021 trainee class.

First up is Luke Campbell from Miami, Florida. He is an up-and-coming music producer and sound engineer. Specializing in producing and mixing music, Campbell states that “established producers that are sample connoisseurs” inspire his work. Campbell cites Kanye West, RZA, and J Dilla as the artists who have influenced him the most. His biggest inspiration from his personal life is his father, Donald Campbell. In his free time, Campbell mentors community youth in Goulds, a neighborhood located in Miami-Dade County.

Lo-Fi trainees join the program with a diverse set of goals and motivations. For Campbell, the program offered a way to propel his career.

“I saw an opportunity to take my music to another level in the perspective of being able to teach it one day due to assuming the proper credentials,” Campbell said.

At Lo-Fi Language Learning, we pride ourselves on being makers of “good trouble.” When asked what “good trouble” means to him, Campbell answered, “Trials and tribulations you go through in life that is a vital part of your success. Lessons you go through in life that morally set you up for greatness.”
